Make-up Haul

selfridgeone

I am pleased to say that after 3 months I finally have the internet! I have missed blogging and reading other people's blogs so much. It's amazing how disconnected I felt without the internet but I have been filling up my time with other things that I really missed doing like reading books and spending more time with family and friends. However I have to admit my favourite hobby is definitely blogging and while I've been 'offline' I have still been taking photos and planning posts. I have so much content to post on here and I can't wait for you all to see it!

What better way to celebrate the return of the internet than with a Make-up Haul!

I went into Topshop to find the Sunbeam highlighter because I have read many blog posts that rave about this product so I couldn't resist checking it out myself. I have a few Topshop makeup bits and have been really impressed with it all and this highlighter in Sunbeam (£10.00) is no exception. It is a stunning gold highlight which is very pigmented and is jam packed with shine. It will be perfect for the summer with a tan,

I went to Selfridges a few weeks back and they have the most beautiful Christmas decorations. They also have the most amazing Christmas gift sets that I think I'll be getting all my Christmas shopping done there! As you can see I also went a teeny tiny bit crazy at the Charlotte Tilbury stand. If you don't know Charlotte Tilbury is my all time favourite make-up brand. Everything I have purchased I've been so impressed with so when I heard that she had launched a new foundation I knew I had to get my hands on it! I got the Magic Foundation (£29.50) in the shade 2 fair (which might be a little pale for me but I just use bronzer to warm my face up). It is very light in texture and I would say it has a light-medium coverage rather than full coverage finish as advertised on the website. When first applied I wasn't impressed. It just sat on top of my skin, you could see the brush (which I also got for £45.00) lines and it just wasn't a good look. However you have to give the foundation time to settle on the skin. After 5 mins the foundation blurred with my skin and the brush lines were gone. It gave my skin a lovely semi matte finish and while it covered redness and scarring it didn't quite cover any spots I had so I would have to use concealer to cover those (Charlotte Tilbury claims that it will cover spots but it didn't work for me). I am disappointed to say that while it is a good foundation it's not my favourite.

While I was at the stand I couldn't walk away without picking up a lipstick. I love the formula of the matte revolution lipsticks and I am slowly collecting them all. I got Red Carpet Red (£23.00) as with all the Christmas around the corner I thought this would be a good pick. Just like the other colours I have this lipstick did not disappoint! Its a rich red that I am happy to wear during the day as well as at night.

Trick or Treat | Halloween Special

halloweenfour

Halloween is a bit of a love or hate holiday. I have heard all the arguments against it and for it but I approach the day like Christmas or Easter - it's just a little bit of fun! I was raised a Catholic but now I don't really follow any religion (not out of spite but just pure laziness (if I'm being totally honest)). I had so much fun carving my pumpkins this year. I did the pumpkin with the toothpicks as teeth and my husband did the pumpkin with the big evil grin. From a distance the spiders on the cobwebs actually look alive which scared me a few times when I was arranging the display!

I didn't have any amazing plans for Halloween as I was more excited this year having trick or treaters come to my door. The outfits the kids had where amazing! I had witches, zombies and even Harry Potter! I got so many trick or treaters I had ruffle in my cupboard for something to give the kids as I had run out of supplies! I also wanted to join the fun and dressed up as a not-so-scary Halloween cat with my glittery ears I bought a few years ago from New Look. I am sad to say that one of the ears has now fallen off as it got caught in my hair *sniff*

We stopped having visitors to our door at about 8:30pm and decided to put a horror movie on. We watched Poltergeist and I am a real chicken when it comes to movies but this film just made me laugh.

I hope you all had an amazing Halloween! It's now definitely one step closer to Christmas now!
