My Thoughts On: Nars Sheer Glow

Nars Sheer Glow

I'm sure everyone has heard of this foundation and I'm sure you are all sick of all the reviews about it on the internet however I feel like I need to add my two cents worth. I purchased Nars Sheer Glow with high hopes as all the reviews I read raved and raved and raved about it. I first tried it in winter, while I liked it I never had the 'wow this is amazing' impression about it. I tried it without primer, with primer, during the day and during the night. I have to admit it is 'okay' for a night time foundation and in the day it would sometimes fade and patch on me. It wasn't until I tried it in the summer that my hate for it grew. I was shopping with some friends and went to top up my lipstick and noticed this foundation had caked all around my chin and nose! It was absolutely awful I felt so self conscience about it that I made a made dash to the Selfridges beauty hall to purchase a new foundation and asked the girls there to take off all the foundation I was wearing and replace with the new one.

I think this foundation is simply too drying and heavy for my skin. I could have a faulty product(?!) But I am not willing to spend another £31 to test this theory. It just goes to show how subjective make up is. What works for one person may just not work for another! While I won't completely bash the product because I know some people have high opinions about it but unfortunately it simply just doesn't work for me.

  3. It's such a shame that this didn't work out for you, maybe it will be one to re-visit in the winter again. At least you have a new one now that works better for you.

  4. What a shame it didn't work out for you! I love this foundation (though I do remember not being into it at first!) however I have combination skin so the satin finish works really well xx

  5. I can only wear this one in winter, and it works best for me if I apply with my fingers and then really REALLY buff it into my skin using a short stipple brush. Doesn't give much coverage but it at least doesn't slide around my face! ^.^ I'm glad you're back into blogging! xx

    1. Those are some good tips! I'll give that a go to see if that will stop it caking on me. It's so lovely to be back into blogging! I really missed it!!
